Emma Lea Corbett, known by her stage name, Suzie Q, built a successful career out of wearing nothing more than high heels. But beneath the glittery eye shadow and girly charm is a savvy businesswoman at the head of a successful business empire.
While performing as an exotic dancer, she began her Communications degree at university, thus beginning her double life as a university student by day and stripper by night.
Despite completing her degree she chose to turn her passion for pole dancing into a career – learning not only about the business of getting naked for money but the importance of following your heart, even if society (or your parents) don’t approve.
This is her story.
‘Suzie Q’ has been an adult entertainer and a guest pole instructor at pole studios all over the world. With her partner Toby J, she won the Open Pairs division of the Asia Pacific Pole Dance Championships for 2010.
Emma Lea Corbett, ‘aka Suzie Q’, currently teaches circus, yoga and aerial yoga at her studios and has recently completed her first ten-day Vipassana course. Now dedicated to ‘Being More’ and ‘Doing Less’, she has completed her Purna, Rocket and Yin Yoga teacher trainings, has presented at the Evolve Yoga Festival and is a regular guest instructor at the H2O Yoga and Meditation Centre on the small island of Gili Air in Indonesia. ‘
