The Burg and Other Seattle Scenes

Mostly True Stories

The Burg and Other Seattle Scenes is a short collection of nine stories and one poem. Eight of the stories—all except Arf—are true, and the poem, Icarus, also relates a true story. The stories range from satirical to deadly serious, from empathetic to, well, less empathetic. Mostly they are funny and strange and, as the title suggests, all take place in Seattle, Washington.

This book was originally put together to sell as a limited edition only at Burgermaster, a Seattle restaurant, but has caught on with several Seattle bookstores such that a second printing has been ordered.

Jerome Gold of Seattle, WA Jerome Gold is the author of thirteen books, including the fiction collection, The Moral Life of Soldiers, and Paranoia & Heartbreak, a memoir of the years he spent as a rehabilitation counselor in a prison for children. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
