Through business or science, sports or entertainment, the forty-one individuals in this book have affected the world around them in big ways. Starting as a history project in New London-Spice public schools, this book tells the stories of many of the famous people to have sprung from the fertile soil of Minnesota. Dean Urdahl of Grove City, MN Dean Urdahl taught American His­tory for thirty-five years at New London-Spicer Middle School in New London, Minnesota. He also coached cross-country running there for twenty-six years. In 2002, he was elected as a member of the Min­nesota State House of Representatives. Dean resides with his wife and editor, Karen, on a hobby farm near Grove City, Minnesota.
