Finding Home

Publisher: Next Century Publishing

You’re dreaming of owning your first home. You envision rooms fully furnished and the yard work complete. But before you can start the “fun stuff” a reality check sets in—you have to purchase your home first! Where do you start? What can you afford? What about taxes, real estate fees, and moving expenses? Where can you find answers to these questions and more? Fortunately, author Michael Trickey has years of experience in everything from budgeting to mortgages to real estate. With you in mind, he has written Finding Home: Everything you need to know—and do—to make buying your first (or next) home a success.

Finding Home will help you navigate the home-buying maze, giving you practical guidance and help, so you can feel confident before you take your first steps. Filled with insights and tips for first time home buyers and seasoned investors alike, this reference guide provides answers and information at your fingertips. Finding Home incorporates today’s attitudes, technologies, laws, demographic trends, environmental concerns, and economic realities. Throughout the book, you will follow Jack and Eva, a young couple navigating the home buying process. They face the same concerns that you do such as: money, credit, mortgage loans, home types, features, locations and costs, real estate brokers, negotiations, inspections, closing, and moving in. They will access websites and tools, and fill in forms and applications, giving you that, “Hey, I can do this!” mindset.

Recognizing that changes in home buying are nonstop, a Finding Home companion website is waiting for you, filled with updates, answers to frequently asked questions, an extensive glossary, recommended websites, calculators, and so more. Simply go to the site, create a user account, and access the extensive content.

You are ready to begin your home buying journey. This book will help ensure you take the right to steps to successfully prepare for, find, and acquire your first, or next, home.
