Juan Carlos Mortensen made poker history in 2007 when he became the first player to win both a World Poker Tour Championship and a World Series of Poker Main Event. He played in his first WSOP in 1999, and was back the following year, finishing at the final table. His aggressive style and fierce competitive nature paid dividends in 2001 when he returned to the WSOP, this time winning the Main Event to capture the $1,500,000 prize. Mortensen won his second bracelet in 2003, winning the Limit Hold'em event at the 34th Annual World Series of Poker.
