You will laugh, you will cry, you will wonder at the greatness of the God who can take a life with little to offer and place him at the crossroads of major events in human affairs and still intersect with ordinary people in ordinary life in fascinating ways that reveal that, in God’s perspective, all of life and lives are important.  There is a sheer joy in seeking to collaborate with God in His plan for your life; and wonder at the awesomeness of such a mighty God and Savior.

About Pastor Jim Henry

DR. JIM HENRY is one of the most respected Christian leaders of our day. Author of seven books, he is a much sought out speaker for conferences, conventions, pastoral and leadership seminars, as well as a popular leader of Bible study tours. Dr. Henry serves on numerous boards and commissions throughout the United States. He recently completed two terms as President of the Southern Baptist Convention.

He served for twenty-nine years as the senior pastor at First Baptist Orlando, a mega church in the heart of Central Florida. Teaching as an adjunct professor at various seminaries and holding interim pastorates, Jim has enjoyed a full ministry since his retirement—his “redeployment.” With a passion for encouraging young pastors and helping churches who are in periods of transition, Jim has been able to offer his counsel and guidance to individuals and churches across the country. He  is currently serving as the preaching pastor at Downtown Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Henry has gained the confidence of key national, state, and local leaders, which has given him the opportunity to counsel presidents and key political leaders of the United States; serve on various advisory committees for the president, secretary of state, and surgeon general; and represent evangelical Christians at numerous historic national and international events over decades.

Jim is married to his college sweetheart, Jeanette. They have three grown children, five grandsons, and two great-grandchildren. In his leisure time, Jim enjoys jogging, reading, golfing, fishing, traveling, and his spending time with his family.
